21 Simple Health Tips to start today
One of the most frequent questions my clients ask is, “What can I do to improve my health”. So I thought I’d share 21 simple, easy to implement Health tips you can start with today and that I personally have done and continue to follow in my everyday life.

- Get up and MOVE…be active. Something as simple as a 10 minute walk every day. Breathe in fresh air, walk barefoot in nature and absorb natural Vit D.
- Go green – purchase non-toxic home products. Take some time to go through you kitchen and laundry room cleaning products. Swap out toxic household items. Be sure to check out my “Clean Green” post.
- Eat organic whenever possible. Follow the dirty dozen and clean fifteen guidelines from the EWA (Environmental Working Group).
- Buy local. Check out your local farmers market and support farmers and ranchers close to home.
- Fill your plate with 70% plant based ingredients, and eat a rainbow of colour.
- Increase your water intake, try adding juice from ½ a lemon to your glass and carry citrus essential oils with you to add to your water throughout the day.
- Minimize your sugar intake and STOP eating high fructose corn syrup.
- Limit processed and packaged foods.
- Organic frozen fruit and vegetables are a great way to save money as most are frozen at the farm just after harvesting, allowing higher nutritional content than the fresh fruit and veggies sitting in cold storage for days upon days before making it to your local supermarket.
- If you eat meat, opt for grass fed meat where humane and ethical practices are a priority.
- If you eat fish, choose wild vs farmed.
- If you eat dairy choose organic, as most dairy in supermarkets is full of hormones and highly processed. Opt for European butter or Ghee. And say no to A1 cows.
- Make your own plant based milks. It’s much easier than you think.
- Say no to artificial sweeteners or preservatives.
- If you can’t pronounce an ingredient on food labels, don’t eat it.
- Buy reusable metal straws.
- Exchange vegetable oils for high grade Olive and Avocado oils and unrefined cold pressed coconut oil.
- Limit alcohol content and be mindful of mixed drinks which can be full of food colouring and loaded with sugar. Try biodynamic and organic wines!
- Chew your food. Simply slow down to enjoy what is on your plate; this aids in better digestion and chances are you will feel full faster.
- Sleep. Allow a good 8 hours of shut eye as often as possible. Limit blue light at bed time, this includes all personal hand held devices and your TV.
- Detox your self care products. Remove all toxic skin care, makeup and self care products from your medicine cabinet, makeup bag and first aid kit. There are natural alternatives with no chemicals, toxins, fragrances and other nasty ingredients.
