understanding chronic traumatic caregiver stress
Chronic Traumatic Caregiver Stress (CTCS) is a real and profound experience, extending beyond thoughts or momentary distress. It manifests as a physical response that settles into our bodies. Caring for children with disabilities or complex medical needs can lead to this kind of stress, showing up in our daily lives, sometimes for years. CTCS occurs when caregiving demands continually overload our systems. Without fully processing and releasing these experiences, life can feel unmanageable.
Amanda combines effective somatic practices with five essential elements—breathwork, meditation, movement, sound, and emotional expression. Together, these elements enable the body’s natural processes to release what has been left behind by traumatic caregiving experiences. By safely activating our body’s “emergency” responses you can minimize the impacts of CTCS.
