There is no one-sized-fits-all approach to wellness. We each have our own unique journey and life to live. What unites us are a few basic principles that I live my life by: MOVE, NOURISH and INSPIRE.

Move

Commit to moving your body every day, no matter how long, or whether it’s in a fancy gym (post quarantine), or at your local park. Start with 15 minutes, and gradually build up your time, better yet, break it up into small bite size chunks. Start your day with a morning stretch. Break up your work day with a 15 minute walk in nature, and end you day with a 15 minute stretch, breath and flow sequence. If you don’t have time for a 60 minute workout in your day, it’s ok!

Nourish

This involves 3 areas.

  1. Your body: What you eat and drink.
  2. Your mind: What you think and the thoughts you tell yourself.
  3. Your spirit: How you rest and restore.

Inspire

Surround yourself with a tribe of uplifting, motivating and loving individuals. This includes your partner, friends and work colleagues. If there is someone in your life who brings you down, makes you feel horrible about yourself or is a big mean bully… let them go! Having a strong mindfulness practice allows you to say no to overextending yourself by creating healthy boundaries. Health boundaries are what keep you feeling joy and fulfilled. When you are depleted you can’t take care of yourself let alone your loved ones.

As you step forward into your journey of improved Health & Happiness, remember to be gentle, compassionate and loving. There is no quick fix. When you allow yourself room to grow — one where you feel nurtured in your mind, body and spirit change occurs with ease. Let this be something you look forward to, that feels good and makes you feel amazing!
