This gorgeous fruit cocktail smoothie is for the fruit lover inside you! It’s for anyone who has a sweet tooth but chooses to eat whole foods vs candy bars and sweets. I promise you, this smoothie will satisfy any sweet tooth.
If you are a berry lover you will LOVE the fruit cocktail smoothie as it’s packed full of berries. I need to give Serena full credit for this recipe as she created it one day after school. She and her girlfriend were hungry and wanted something quick and refreshing. Both girls wanted fruit so I suggested creating a smoothie. Having taught her how to use my vitamix Serena is now a smoothie queen and loves creating new masterpieces for everyone to sample.
The fruit cocktail smoothie was a huge hit. Both girls quickly slurped it up, and made 2nds, naturally I asked what ingredients they used so I could recreate it and share it with the ChampagneYogi tribe.
Tip:
Keep frozen berries, pineapple and mango in your freezer and this will be really simple to whip up. Feel free to exchange the coconut water for any other liquid. If you choose nut or coconut mylk – it will be creamier and more like a berry ice cream (which is equally as delicious). If you choose orange juice it will be sweeter. You can also use plain water, the hemp seed naturally provides a creamy texture and taste.
Dragon fruit is another name for the fruit Pitaya. This delicious tropical fruit provides an incredible bright pink colour. For this smoothie we used frozen Pitaya, but you can also use pitaya powder* – we keep this as a staple in our pantry. We use it a lot to naturally colour cookies and other goodies.
