A refreshing green smoothie that has quickly become a favourite in the Wellness Warrior community. If you are not yet a fan of green smoothies, the Green Coconutty Smoothie just might convert you.

Do you ever need a quick morning refresher, or afternoon pick-me-up? If so, this thirst-quenching green smoothie is the perfect recipe for you.

I often need an extra energy boost before I head into the studio to teach. Live streaming a 60 minute barre class is a lot harder than might you think. Not only am I teaching with no breaks to connect with clients like an in-studio class, but I have to be ‘on’ one hundred percent of the time. I am not complaining however. I get a fantastic workout and know that on the other side of the computer I’m connecting with clients from all over the world.

REFRESHING GREEN SMOOTHIE RECIPE BREAKDOWN

This unique twist on the classic green smoothie combines spinach with frozen pineapple and banana, fresh lime, mint leaves, ginger (optional) and coconut meat creating a light, refreshing and delicious tasting smoothie.

Green Coconutty Smoothie
Ingredients
  • 2 cup coconut water
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1/2 frozen banana, sliced
  • 1/2 lime, peel included
  • 12 mint leaves
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup coconut meat or 2 tbsp canned coconut cream
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients in a high speed blender. Blend until creamy and smooth.

Recipe Notes

For an extra kick, add a knob of fresh ginger.
