Hazelnut Truffle Bliss Balls
A delicious plant-based superfood energy ball that tastes like a treat! Made with nuts, seeds, superfoods and rich in fiber, plant protein and healthy fats.
I’ll be the first to admit I love a combo of healthy and decadence all at the same time. There’s something even more delicious knowing you are fueling your mind and body but also satisfying a sweet craving.
I was a fan of the hazelnut chocolate Ferrero Rocher in my much younger years and was always super excited to see them around at Christmas time.
This is a healthy and nutritious version, one you won’t feel guilty if you lick your fingers after making the bliss balls or find yourself going back for seconds.
They are absolutely fantastic as a post workout snack. Perfect as a treat in your kids lunch bag – shh! don’t let on they are actually healthy! And how about that 3pm energy slump? No more reaching for a candy bar or bag of greasy potato chips. It’s time to say goodbye to junk food and reclaim your health. Download my Free Sugar Swap Guide for healthy alternatives.
These hazelnut truffle balls are so delicious and satisfying you can say goodbye to junk food for good!
“say goodbye to junk food”
Below you’ll see directions if you are using whole nuts or pre-made nut butters. If you are using nut butters, I recommend opting for a crunchy unsweetened nut butter for more texture and without the added sugar if possible.
They are ridiculously easy to make, you can whip them up, be licking your fingers clean in about 5 minutes. Staring at the clock while they firm up in the fridge is the hardest part – you can cheat by placing them in the freezer for 10 mins. Enjoy!

- ½ cup raw sprouted almonds or unsweetened almond butter
- 1/2 cup raw organic pumpkin seeds
- 2 tbsp hemp seeds
- ¼ cup raw cacao powder
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp himalayan salt
- 1 vanilla bean or 1 tsp ground vanilla bean
- ½ cup raw unsweetened shredded coconut.
In a food processor, blend the hazelnuts and almonds until they resemble fine bread crumbs and start to stick together. (omit this step if using hazelnut and almond butter and see below for directions)
- Remove the pits from the medjool dates and add one by one until crumb size pieces are formed with nuts.
- Add pumpkin seeds, cacao powder, honey, salt, vanilla and shredded coconut. Continue to pulse/blend until the mixture starts to stick and can easily be rolled to form balls.
- Using your hands, make golf ball sized truffle balls, refrigerate for 20 mins before eating.
- Add pumpkin seeds to a food processor
- Remove pits from medjool dates and add one by one while blending with pumpkin seeds and shredded coconut until crumb size pieces form.
- Add nut butters, cacao powder, honey, salt, vanilla. Continue to pulse/blend until the mixture starts to stick and can easily be rolled to form balls.
- Feel free to replace honey with alternative sweetener if you are Vegan.
- If cacao powder is unavailable, replace with a high grade unsweetened cocoa or carob powder.
- Sprouted almonds are easier to digest - that's my preferred choice. It’s ok to use regular raw almonds. Choose organic whenever possible.
