Monday Motivation: love
Today’s Monday Motivation is inspired by the simple act of love.
When was the last time someone gave you a compliment? Or lifted you up? Brought a smile to your face? Made you feel special? Inspired you to be a better version of yourself?
I want you to know you are amazing. Yes beautiful, I am talking to YOU.
“You are amazing”
Far too often we WAIT to be told we are beautiful. We wait desperately to feel love. It’s all there. You just need to look a little deeper inside yourself.
When was the last time you gave in to a little self-love time? Closed your laptop just because? Turned off notifications on your mobile? Went outside for a breath of fresh air? Or simply sat in silence? Download my free Self-Love Rituals for a little motivation.
We all need more white space in our lives. Technology is big. It’s bright. And it’s powerful. Too much of it and we start to feel small, inadequate and worthless. Science has even coined the phrase “compare and despair”, and proven depression increases from too much social media.
Give in to the simple act of self-love
I’m telling you right now. Giving in to the simple act of self-love is something we all need more of in our lives. No-one is perfect. I find the word perfect boring. Being imperfectly perfect is completely ok.
Whenever I make a special treat in the kitchen I always duplicate that same amount of energy to myself. It might not be the very same day, but allowing myself to receive without guilt is something I’ve been working on for a very long time.
Yesterday I spent a few hours working on a new raw dessert (coming soon I promise) and I was absolutely knackered after I finished. I was so laser focused on ‘perfecting’ not only the recipe but the picture perfect picture I was shooting. My shoulders became tense, I felt myself getting snappy and wow I was in need of some serious self-love.
I’m a dedicated mum and a very busy entrepreneur, and I’d never trade any of my obligations. But giving back to myself is just as important. I’ll tell my girls, Mommy needs to take 5. I might do a quick meditation, sit and read a few pages in a book or call a friend for a quick catch up. Sometimes those 5 minutes turn into 20 and I go for a walk, take a bath or extend my meditation. You need to let your family know when you need a little you time and the why. They will support you if you speak up. You deserve it, it will refuel you. You’ll be happier, more productive and able to continue to give.
Your Turn:
I invite you to soak in an epsom salt bath, add a few drops of your favourite essential oils, (my personal favourite are by doTERRA) create a healing atmosphere with candle light, soft music and just breathe.
I want to thank you for your practice of gratitude. For being your unique self. Sharing your gifts and love with everyone around you. This is your time to shine. Perhaps whip up a batch of my heavenly delicious Almond Butter Cups to be my way of thanking you for celebrating your inner ChampagneYogi. I hope you relish every bite.
