Spring Mood Playlist

Hi Beautiful!

It has been an intense and emotional week. Though I’ve been grieving deeply, I’ve also been moved and inspired to see how much action there’s been around the Black Lives Matter movement.  My deepest hope is that this is just the beginning of a deeper awakening and a unity among ALL.

I know I’ll never understand what it’s like to be a Black, Brown or mixed race woman, and I will never be an expert in anti-racism work, but I am committed to listening, learning and doing everything I can to educate my girls that we are one.

What I do know is sexism, ageism and discrimination. Specifically discrimination towards someone with a disability, and while it doesn’t compare my personal experience only deepens my commitment to creating an environment of inclusion.

I’ve seen the power of music and how it can bring together people from all walks of life. This playlist is a mood enhancer and it brings calm to your day.

The 2nd to last song “Bliss” is is a profound and powerful mantra and affirmation, I urge you to listen and sing along with the beautiful words. You, your neighbor, sister, brother and everyone in this world is truly beautiful.

Bliss

I am the light of my soul
I am beautiful
I am bountiful
I am bliss
I am
I am

-Snatam Kaur

Use the last 5 minutes  — or last song and close your eyes, sit with the emotions you experienced while chanting. Jessica Gallo plays this incredibly healing piece of music, she is a therapeutic musician local to the Seattle area. I’ve been enjoying her music during the last couple months, and have “Hope” playing on repeat during my meditations. I am truly grateful to know incredible musician and her family — her daughters attend the same school as Serena, and hope one day I get to listen to her play in person.

Meditation helps me find peace. I am able to get out of my overactive mind and return to a place of calm. Meditation provides me with a deep comfort and quite often where I get the most inspiration for my work. After a quick 5 minute meditation my mind and body feel restored and balanced. Remember, there is no right way to meditate and there is no time limit.

I created this 90 minute Stress Reduction Playlist to use as background music when you are working, doing your best at home-schooling, during a yoga flow, walk in nature, or anytime you need to soothe and release any feelings of unease.
