Vegan Parmesan Cheese
This simple 5 ingredient Vegan Parmesan Cheese is super simple to make. Equally delicious as the original cheese from Italy. But healthy, gluten and dairy-free and inexpensive to make. Wow! What more could you ask for?
Delicious on top of pasta, risotto, kale salad, pizza and anywhere you’d usually sprinkle parmesan cheese! We use it as a dairy free alternative in pesto, and no-one is ever the wiser.
The superstar ingredient is Nutritional Yeast; recognized as a complete protein containing at least nine of the 18 amino acids that our bodies cannot produce on their own. Fantastic news for those of you who are vegan or follow a primarily plant based diet.
Vegan Parmesan Cheese is a perfect substitute for dairy cheeses as it has a naturally nutty, cheesy flavour.
I’m always searching for ways to increase nutritional content in my recipes and my favourite ingredient to use is Hemp seeds. They too have a naturally nutty flavour and provide that little extra nutritional boost I’m always looking for.
This recipe is:
vegan, gluten-free,
plant based protein
nutritious, full of fiber and delicious
I use this vegan cheese in my mushroom quinotto dish. Next time you are craving mushroom risotto try this a healthier alternative.
